Un hombre identificado como Luis Gustavo Hernández García, alias “El Cachetes” o “El 59”, quien se encontraba en una tienda Oxxo resultó herido de bala la noche del martes 16 de diciembre, en el fraccionamiento Santa Fe, en Tijuana.
De acuerdo con los datos recabados, alrededor de las 19:08 horas se reportaron detonaciones de arma de fuego en una tienda de conveniencia situada sobre el bulevar Santa Fe, donde al parecer una persona había resultado herida.

Al lugar arribaron elementos de la Policía Municipal, quienes visualizaron a un hombre de tez clara, complexión robusta, que vestía chamarra negra y pantalón gris. Presentaba lesiones en el pecho y se encontraba tirado en el establecimiento.
Paramédicos del Cuerpo de Bomberos le brindaron los primeros auxilios y posteriormente lo trasladaron a un hospital para su atención médica.
