Descartan un brote de sarampión en una escuela primaria de Mexicali; sin embargo, a la fecha se mantienen ocho casos confirmados en la capital del estado.

El secretario de Salud de Baja California, Adrián Medina Amarillas, informó que los casos sospechosos de sarampión detectados en una escuela primaria del municipio resultaron negativos a la enfermedad; no obstante, indicó que existen otros tres casos confirmados correspondientes a personas que atendieron el caso inicial de un menor de edad residente del Valle de Mexicali.
“Afortunadamente están descartados esos tres casos que informó la dirección de esa escuela; afortunadamente los niños no tienen sarampión, los tres ya tienen prueba negativa, así que no hay problema en ese sentido; lo que sí es que tenemos tres casos más de los que ya habíamos anunciado la semana pasada, esta semana llegamos a ocho y son tres trabajadores del Seguro Social”.

Por otra parte, comentó que ya sostuvo comunicación con la secretaria de Educación, Irma Martínez, para evitar que las instancias educativas o médicas difundan información de manera independiente, como ocurrió en el caso de la escuela primaria, ya que únicamente el sector Salud puede emitir este tipo de comunicados, con el fin de evitar desinformación que pueda alarmar a la ciudadanía.
Actualmente, ninguno de los casos presenta complicaciones; sin embargo, continuarán las jornadas de vacunación contra el sarampión, las cuales iniciaron en Mexicali y posteriormente se extendieron al municipio de Tijuana el pasado fin de semana. Asimismo, se buscará que los inmunológicos también se apliquen en instancias públicas, como el Centro de Gobierno del Ejecutivo estatal.
