La presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo designó el 17 de diciembre de 2025 a Esthela Damián Peralta como titular de la Consejería Jurídica del Ejecutivo Federal (CJEF). El nombramiento de la funcionaria federal se formalizó tras la salida de Ernestina Godoy Ramos, quien ocupaba previamente el cargo dentro de la Administración Pública Federal. Con esta designación, la presidenta de la República integra a su equipo cercano a una colaboradora con amplia trayectoria en la administración pública de la Ciudad de México y en órganos legislativos.
Esthela Damián Peralta es licenciada en Derecho por la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Guerrero (UAGro) y maestra en Educación. Según la ficha biográfica difundida por la Presidencia de la República, Damián Peralta cuenta con especialización práctica en Derecho Parlamentario, Fiscal, Administrativo, Derechos Humanos y Derecho Electoral. Su formación académica y actualización profesional incluyen además capacitación continua en aspectos normativos e impositivos, así como en Cobranza Coactiva y Participación Fiscal.

En su trayectoria profesional, la funcionaria federal se desempeñó como secretaria particular de la entonces jefa de Gobierno de la Ciudad de México, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. Asimismo, durante cuatro años fungió como directora general del Sistema para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) de la Ciudad de México y secretaria ejecutiva del Sistema de Protección Integral de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes. Hasta el día de su actual nombramiento, Damián Peralta ocupaba el cargo de subsecretaria de Prevención de las Violencias de la Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana (SSPC) Federal, donde coordinó la estrategia de atención a las causas de la violencia.
La funcionaria federal ha participado en diversos foros y seminarios especializados en reformas fiscales, políticas de drogas, fiscalización gubernamental y ética pública. Según la información oficial, su visión jurídica se ha fortalecido mediante la participación en foros sobre transparencia, rendición de cuentas y diversidad familiar. Estas experiencias académicas y profesionales han consolidado su perfil técnico para el diseño normativo y la función pública institucional.

Respecto a las funciones que asumirá en el Gobierno de México, la titular de la CJEF tendrá la responsabilidad de revisar y validar los proyectos de decretos, acuerdos y demás instrumentos jurídicos que se sometan a consideración de la titular del Poder Ejecutivo Federal. Según la normativa vigente, la dependencia también debe representar legalmente a la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo en las acciones de inconstitucionalidad y controversias constitucionales ante la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (SCJN).
La mandataria nacional señaló que la incorporación de Damián Peralta fortalecerá la estructura legal de su Administración, garantizando que todas las políticas públicas y reformas propuestas cuenten con un sustento jurídico sólido.
