Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, líder de “Los Chapitos”, “Los Menores” y/o “Los Chiquillos”, una facción del Cártel de Sinaloa (CDS), junto a su hermano, Ovidio Guzmán López, “El Ratón” -ambos hijos del capo sinaloense Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera, “El Chapo- dirigían una organización que traficaba ilegalmente explosivos, armas de grueso calibre y cartuchos de Estados Unidos a México, mismos que una vez que ingresaban a territorio mexicano, los utilizaban en la fabricación de armas.
Así lo señaló el diario de circulación nacional La Jornada, en una nota titulada ‘Chapitos’ fabricaban armas tras copiar las que traían desde EU’, firmada por el periodista Gustavo Castillo García, quien citó supuestas investigaciones de la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), cuyo titular es Alejandro Gertz Manero.

“En algunos de los casos, se procede a desarmar los objetos bélicos adquiridos con el propósito de copiar sus componentes y fabricarlos en talleres clandestinos, refieren investigaciones de la Fiscalía General de la República, y en las cuales se ha señalado el involucramiento del boxeador Julio César Chávez Carrasco”, afirmó el citado rotativo.
“La indagatoria señala que las armas eran entregadas en gran número a sicarios de la organización delictiva conocida como cártel de Sinaloa. Las investigaciones a cargo de la Fiscalía Especializada en Materia de Delincuencia Organizada (FEMDO) establecieron que por lo menos desde 2018, el grupo de traficantes de armas era encabezado por Martín León Romero, quien contaba con la colaboración de ciudadanos estadunidenses que adquirían las armas, los explosivos y los cartuchos en Tucson, Arizona, y los trasladaban a Nogales, Sonora”, agregó La Jornada.

“León Romero fue detenido en diciembre de 2024 y ese mismo mes quedó vinculado a proceso penal por un juez con sede en Hermosillo, Sonora, tras concluir que desde 2018 dirigía una organización de más de tres personas, cuyo centro de operaciones se estableció en Nogales, Sonora, teniendo además actividades en Nogales y Tucson, Arizona, Estados Unidos, pero cuyo centro de mando se encuentra en el estado de Sinaloa”, abundó el diario.
“Por estas operaciones, el Ministerio Público Federal obtuvo órdenes de aprehensión en contra de 13 personas, incluido Julio César Chávez Carrasco (hijo del ex campeón mundial Julio César Chávez [González]), y fueron descubiertas en noviembre de 2019, cuando un elemento de la Agencia de Investigación y Seguridad Nacional, perteneciente a la Dirección de Inmigración y Aduanas de Estados Unidos (ICE/HSI), presentó una denuncia ante la FGR”, detalló La Jornada.

“La célula delictiva tenía integrantes que se dedicaban a reclutar a más personas para la compra de armas de fuego (en Tucson, Estados Unidos). Su forma de operar consiste “en que varios miembros de ésta contactan a otras a cambio de dinero, les piden que usen sus tarjetas de crédito y proporcionen sus domicilios para que reciban los pedidos de compras de armas de fuego y cartuchos que se realizan por Internet y puedan llegar a esos domicilios en Estados Unidos, y de ahí son recogidos por miembros de la organización criminal comandada por Martín León Romero”, explicó el rotativo.
“Y, una vez que se tienen físicamente las armas y los cartuchos para armas de fuego, éstas son ingresadas ilegalmente a Nogales, Sonora, y es el propio Martín León Romero quien las recibe en esa ciudad fronteriza, revisa la calidad y la cantidad de los productos, los reempaca, los transporta a través de autobuses, para posteriormente ser enviados a la ciudad de Culiacán, Sinaloa, para ser entregados a Iván Archivaldo y a otros miembros de la organización delictiva conocida como Cártel de Sinaloa”, abundó La Jornada.
“Entre los objetos bélicos adquiridos en Estados Unidos se detectaron granadas de calibre 44 milímetros y cañones lanzagranadas modelo M203 para calibre 40 milímetros. Durante las indagatorias de Estados Unidos se aseguraron 97 mil cartuchos y 19 armas de fuego, y en 2019 se imputó el delito de tráfico de armas a 14 personas en aquel país”, finalizó el diario.
