La Subsecretaría de Protección Civil de Baja California Sur exhortó a la población de mantenerse alejada de las playas y no salir a navegar, esto ante la alerta de tsunami que persiste para las costas sudcalifornianas en el Océano Pacífico.
Tras el sismo de magnitud 8.7 registrado este martes 29 de julio en Rusia, el Centro de Alerta de Tsunamis de la Dirección General Adjunta de Oceanografía, Hidrografía y Meteorología (DGAOHM) emitió un boletín en el que enlistó diversas zonas del Pacífico mexicano dentro del área de riesgo.

En este comunicado se precisa que se esperan alturas de 0.3 a 1.0 metros por la propagación del tsunami generado, así como corrientes fuertes en la entrada de los puertos.
Se pronostica que estos efectos se resientan en las costas de Cabo San Lucas a partir de las 3:50 horas de la madrugada del miércoles 30 de julio.

Es en este escenario en el que la Subsecretaría de Protección Civil de Baja California Sur llamó a la ciudadanía a mantenerse informada a través de los canales oficiales, haciendo hincapié en la importancia de atender indicaciones de las autoridades.
